PHOENIX (AP) -

Police in Phoenix say one man was arrested after criminal damage was found at the summit area of South Mountain Park.

Police say they received a call about 8:30 a.m. Wednesday.

They say information given on the call was that someone had damaged electrical panels for the radio/TV transmitters.

Officers claim they found the suspect, 41-year-old Micheal Preston, inside the fenced area where there signs that said, "No trespassing."

Also in the fenced area were several power junction boxes and other equipment had been manually shut off or damaged.

A few Phoenix stations reportedly experienced interruptions of their broadcast at around 7:30 a.m., when it's believed the damage occurred.

Preston was booked into jail on one count of commercial burglary, one count of criminal damage and one count of trespassing.
