PHOENIX (3TV/CBS 5) -

A three-car crash sent one vehicle veering into a Glendale townhouse early Tuesday morning.

Police and fire crews were at the West Place Townhouse complex at 43rd Avenue and Lamar Road, south of Glendale Avenue.

"One of the vehicles spun off and struck a condo on the Glendale (west) side of the street," Phoenix Police Sgt. Vince Lewis said.

Pictures from our news helicopter showed one smashed vehicle sideways on the corner and half-way up a sidewalk.

The other vehicle left the roadway and crashed into the side of one of the townhomes. There was extensive damage inside.

Four people were hurt. Two people, a 17-year-old boy and a 60-year-old woman, were taken to the hospital in serious condition, Phoenix Fire Capt. Reda Bigler said. Two other people suffered minor injuries.

Glendale police remain at the scene trying to determine what led up to the collision.
