GLENDALE, AZ (3TV/CBS 5) -

A bicyclist is recovering after being hit by a train engine early Monday morning.

It happened just after 2:30 a.m. at Bethany Home Road and Grand Avenue.

The bicyclist, a man in his 30s, suffered minor injuries but was not taken to the hospital, according to the Glendale Police Department.

“At this time, preliminary investigation of the incident indicates the train engine was traveling northwest bound on the tracks when the collision took place,” Detective Mark Coyle of the Glendale Police Department said.

Bethany Home Road was closed in both directions while officers conducted the on-scene portion of their investigation. It has since reopened.
