A man downed a hot dog or two and beer before robbing a Phoenix-area Circle K, police said.

It happened on Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2016.

The suspect paid for the food and drink and consumed them at a customer counter inside the store at 3618 W. Buckeye Rd.

Just after 11 p.m., when he had finished eating, he walked up to the counter, approached the clerk and asked about lottery tickets.

“The suspect then pulled a black handgun from his waistband and demanded three scratch off lottery tickets,” Silent Witness Sgt. Jamie Rothschild said.

The clerk complied. The suspect then took off on foot.
