SURPRISE, AZ (3TV/CBS 5) -

Two drivers were injured in a wrong-way crash in Surprise Sunday morning.

Just after 6:30 a.m., the Arizona Department of Public Safety received reports on a motorist driving eastbound in the westbound lanes on US 60 at Sunrise Boulevard.

Several minutes later, the SUV collided head-on with another vehicle.

Paramedics reached the two drivers who were injured between RH Johnson Boulevard and Greenway Road.

One of them was airlifted to St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center and the other was taken by ambulance to a West Valley hospital, according to Surprise fire officials.
