PHOENIX (3TV/CBS 5) -

It's one of the most iconic images from World War II -- the B-17 bomber.

Of the more than 12,000 made, only a handful still fly today.

We had the rare chance to take a trip back in time in one of these fully restored flying museums and you can, too.

The "Aluminum Overcast" B-17 will be at the Deer Valley Airport through Sunday.

Money from the rides helps maintain the historic bomber and also goes to the Young Eagles to inspire the love of aviation in kids.
