GUADALUPE, AZ (3TV/CBS 5) -

Fire crews from three cities headed off potential disaster Wednesday morning when they were called out to what was initially reported as a shed fire.

It happened at about 2:45 a.m. off Guadalupe Road just west of the North Highline Lateral Canal Trail, which is west of Hardy Drive.

“Upon arrival, they found a … fully involved vehicle fire,” Wayne Clement of the Guadalupe Fire Department explained.

The flames had already spread to a travel trailer, but that’s not all.

“Miscellaneous debris around the travel trailer was burning, as well,” Clement said.

Neighbors tell us they saw a large ball of flame.

Crews from Guadalupe, Tempe and Phoenix worked quickly to knock down the fire.

“The fire was fully controlled without an incident,” Clement said.

No injuries were reported and no residents were displaced.

It’s not clear what sparked the fire.
