Tempe police release sketch of man who groped young woman in parking lot

TEMPE, AZ (3TV/CBS 5) -

Tempe police want to alert the community about a suspect who groped a young woman in the parking lot of an apartment complex.

Police released a composite sketch of the suspect on Wednesday.

The incident happened Monday, February 6 at approximately 2:20 p.m. in the parking lot of the Allure complex near Elliott and Priest Drive in Tempe.

An adult male suspect approached a female in her 20s in the parking lot.

The suspect then made a comment to the victim and touched her in an unwanted fashion.

The victim screamed, upon which the suspect took off on foot to an unknown location.

Police were not able to locate the suspect.

Detectives have ascertained that the suspect description does not fit any previous incidents reported in Tempe, and are working with other law enforcement agencies to see if the suspect is a known offender in another area.

  • Sex: Male
  • Race: Black
  • Age: 30's – 40's
  • Height: (approximately) 5'10"
  • Weight: (approximately) 210 pounds
  • Build: Heavy
  • Hair: Black / short dreadlocks
  • Eyes: Brown
  • Last seen wearing: loose-fitting, long cargo shorts, and a green shirt.
