ASU PD warns residents, students about potentially violent suspect

The Arizona State University Police Department put out an alert Monday about an aggravated assault suspect for whom the Tempe Police Department is looking.

ASU Police tweeted a warning about Mishal Almustaneer, who goes by Mike, warning residents and students to contact police immediately if they spot him.

“Do not attempt to approach this individual,” the alert states. “He should be considered armed and dangerous.”

Almustaneer is wanted in connection with aggravated assaults and firearms violations. Police said he was seen pointing a gun at people but wouldn't give any other details.

“He is known to frequent the Lemon/Terrace area and 1101 E. Playa Del Norte,” according to the alert.

The alert also included some basic campus safety tips and encouraged students to download the free ASU LiveSafe app, which is available for both iOS and Android devices.
