A Valley man was arrested and booked for allegedly stabbing his son by accident early Sunday morning.

John Yanez was booked on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, possession of a dangerous drug and possession of a narcotic drug. He was also charged with one count of drug paraphernalia and making threats.

The altercation broke out at around 3:15 a.m. at the El Paisano strip mall, according to police.

“During the fight, an adult male brandished a knife and accidentally stabbed his adult son in the back while attempting to stab one of the other combatants,” a police spokesperson said.
