PD: Man in car fires at group of pedestrians, hitting 1

Police are seeking information from the public after a man allegedly shot at a group of pedestrians during a confrontation.

The incident occurred at around 3:45 p.m. on Dec. 19 near 40th Avenue and Camelback Road in Phoenix.

Police said multiple people were traveling in a silver four-door sedan when they got into a verbal confrontation with a group of pedestrians.

One of the people in the car fired one round from a handgun, striking a 19-year-old man.

The suspected shooter is described as a Hispanic or white male, 18 to 25 years old, clean shaven with brown or blond hair, wearing a white T-shirt and a hat. He had a tattoo believed to be long teardrops under each eye.

Police have released a sketch of the suspect.

Anyone with information about any of the people in the car or what led to the shooting is asked to contact Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS or silentwitness.org. Callers may remain anonymous and could earn a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest and/or indictment of the suspect.
