FLAGSTAFF, AZ (AP) -
The Coconino County Board of Supervisors has approved the purchase of 104 body cameras for deputies and detention officers with the county Sheriff's Office.
The board on Tuesday also approved $480,000 for five years of video storage capacity for the body cameras.
County Sheriff Jim Driscoll told the Arizona Daily Sun (http://bit.ly/2k6TBVi) that every field deputy and detention officer will be equipped with a camera, which will be mounted on the person's head via glasses or headgear.
Driscoll says his office still is crafting its policies for the cameras, but they will generally require that the devices be turned on for all enforcement and investigative contacts, including traffic violations.
