Fire officials say the boy was not breathing when they arrived at the home near 107th Avenue and Olive.

Crews performed CPR on the boy until he was taken to Banner Thunderbird Hospital.

Fire officials caution that even though it's winter, it's till critical to make sure to always watch your children around water.

"We have a tendency to get complacent this time of year because we're not using our pools," said Tim Eiden with the Peoria Fire Department. "It's so important that parents remain vigilant year-round, 365 days a year."
