MCSO needs help finding suspect in theft at Goodwill store

FOUNTAIN HILLS, AZ (3TV/CBS 5) -

The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help solving a case that has gone cold.

Investigators recently released a surveillance photo of the suspect in a theft at a Goodwill location in Fountain Hill in the hope that somebody will recognize him and point detectives in the right direction.

The theft happened at about 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 17 at the store at 13757 E. Fountain Hills Blvd.

According to MCSO, the man “roamed around [the store] before taking the coin purse of another patron as it lay near them on the counter while they were shopping.”

The suspect is described as a black male, about 5 feet 9 inches tall with an athletic build.

Sgt. Joaquin Enriquez said MCSO “has exhausted all leads” in the case, which is why it reaching out to the community.
