The Penguin Air and Plumbing News Chopper was over the scene and showed first responders working to extricate somebody from a badly damaged compact car.
It's early in the investigation, but police believe the compact car pulled out of the Circle K parking lot and into the path of an oncoming SUV. The SUV T-boned the compact on the driver's side.
The man behind the wheel of the car was taken to the hospital where doctors pronounced him dead.
There was a passenger in the T-boned car who was not hurt.
The driver of the SUV suffered minor injuries and was shaken by the crash.
Police will be talking to those people as investigators piece together the moments leading up to the crash.
"There will be road closures in place through morning rush," Sgt. Vince Lewis said in an email alert. "Please advise motorists to avoid the area and choose an alternate route."
