PHOENIX (3TV/CBS 5) -

Phoenix firefighters are trying to find the cause of a blaze that ripped through a home early Sunday morning.

The fire caused significant damage to the structure in the 7400 block of W. Minnezona Avenue, Phoenix Fire Capt. Reda Bigler said.

“There was one person who lived here and he was able to escape without injury and still grab two of his dogs,” Bigler said.

The man and his pets fled before the roof collapsed.

“Firefighters were told there was a third dog and they could hear the dog barking but he would not exit the home or come to firefighters,” Bigler said.

No adjacent homes were affected.
