Authorities in southern Arizona seized 7.5 pounds of heroin that they found hidden inside an ice chest.
Pima County sheriff's deputies and Tucson Sector Border Patrol agents stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation while participating in "Operation Countermeasure" on Tuesday.
Officials said the driver consented to a search of the vehicle, which led to the discovery of the narcotics hidden in an ice chest within the vehicle's cargo area.
The heroin was valued at almost $131,000, officials said.
The driver, a male U.S. citizen, was arrested and booked into the Pima County Detention Facility on charges of possession and transportation of a dangerous drug for sale.
Operation Countermeasure is a multiagency cooperative effort among law enforcement agencies along the southern Arizona border.
