The Arizona border with Mexico is getting about 7 miles of replacement fencing in Naco.
The U.S. Border Patrol says it's working with the Army Corps of Engineers and that plans for new fencing began four years ago.
The fencing along the Naco Port of Entry is currently made of wire mesh but will be replaced with an 18-foot bollard fence.
The Border Patrol says other sections of about 210 miles of border fencing or barrier that the Tucson Sector patrols have already been upgraded and shown to help agents do their jobs better.
