Dysart School District Hiring Event

Dysart Unified School District will host a hiring event for classified (non-teaching) positions on Friday, December 2nd, from 9 am until 3 pm at the Support Services Facility located at 13825 W. Desert Cove Road in Surprise, Arizona.  The event will feature employment options that support students throughout the district.  Available positions range from paraprofessionals to bus drivers, bus aides, and child care positions.

Candidates interested in these types of positions can apply at dysart.org/careers prior to or at the hiring fair.  Qualified candidates will be able to interview on December 2nd.  Attendees will also be able to meet with multiple departments to learn more about job opportunities and visit with Human Resources.

United Fantasy Flight takes off for the North Pole

We join United Fantasy Flight for their trip to the North Pole, as they take kids to meet Santa and receive gifts. A Fantasy Flight is a charitable event that takes place in several United Airlines cities. Each station chooses a deserving group of children to host. The kids board a designated flight and "depart" for the "North Pole."

Holiday spirits fill Old Town Peoria 

It's the biggest event of the year in Peoria, The Old Town Holiday Festival in Old Town gets underway tonight from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Part of the event, includes a gingerbread village, holiday crafting, live entertainment and more. 

Parking and admission is free but some activities have a nominal fee or require a wristband purchase. Limited parking is available at the Peoria Community Center, accessed from Monroe Street or 84th Avenue. Additional parking is available at the municipal parking garages on the City Hall campus near the event.

Wild Wonderland at Bearizona begins tonight 

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas at Bearizona Wildlife Park. With the arrival of the first snowfall the animals are eager for the change in seasons and the start of the second annual Wild Wonderland Event which kicks-off tonight. 

Guests will enjoy the lights and sounds of the season while strolling through the beautifully lit pine trees that are synchronized to traditional Christmas music. This merry light show occurs every half hour.  Other festivities include a nightly visit from Mrs. Claus for a special Storytime, plenty of photo ops, and a couple of the park's sturdier critters stay up late to enjoy the cooler nights and will even get the chance to open their Christmas presents early! Bearizona's program animals are eager to participate in the season's festivities as well, and will be out for all to meet.
 
Guests can stay warm by the outdoor fire pit while roasting s'mores, or purchase a Christmas goodie or seasonal beverage while they peruse the gift shop filled with plenty of gifts ideas to finish off your Christmas shopping.
 
Wild Wonderland is held every Friday Saturday and Sunday evening in December. Then beginning Dec. 19 it runs every night through the 31, but is closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas.

Former 3TV Meteorologist Brittney Shipp is back to tell us all about her first children's book, The Meteorologist in Me

TV Meteorologist and author Brittney Shipp and Arizona Science Center presents: "Meteorologist in Me" children’s Book on After a few frustrating trips to the book store, she decided to just write her own.
It's her dream to energize young women and all students to choose weather and science-related careers. She hopes The Meteorologist in Me encourages everyone to take a step forward towards making their dreams a reality. 

She is teaming up with the Arizona Science Center for a jam-packed weather day on Saturday, Dec. 3rd. Bring your children out to learn all about the weather, a green screen demonstration and arts and crafts.

Victoria's Secret Fashion Show heads to Paris 

For the first time, the Victoria's Secret Angels will be filmed in Paris for THE VICTORIA'S SECRET FASHION SHOW, to be broadcast Monday, Dec. 5th on CBS 5 at 9pm.
