Black Friday: Toys R' Us

Toys"R"Us is decking the halls, preparing to welcome Phoenix-area shoppers this Thanksgiving evening to kick-off a weekend of holiday deal busters and savings. As crowds form and customers eagerly wait in line to begin holiday shopping for the little ones on their lists, gift-givers will have their circulars and shopping lists in-hand ready to hunt for Barbie, LEGO, Trolls, and more. The holiday season will be significantly more festive this year as the City of Scottsdale debuts a month long holiday celebration aptly named: Scottsdazzle.
Scottsdazzle will officially kick off with a tree-lighting ceremony on Friday, November 25 (Black Friday) at 5:30 p.m. Mayor Jim Lane and members of the Scottsdale City Council will be on hand to light the one-of-a kind to Arizona tree, imported from Italy. The tree boasts over one million customizable lighting options and will glow nightly on the Soleri Bridge. 
Scottsdazzle will incorporate several signature events scattered throughout December as well as other ongoing festivities. The signature events include:

  • Christmas Tree Lighting, Soleri Bridge: 5:30 p.m., November 25, sweet treats and cocoa will be offered, live music and more!

Black Friday: Cabela's

1,000 customers to celebrate the season with Cabela's in Glendale on Friday, November 25th. Doors open at 5:00 am.  This year, at Cabela's they will flying drones, playing movies and giving away gifts to the first 600 in line (one lucky winner will take home a firearm).

Glendale Glitters begins tonight 

If you love the magic of holiday lights, then mark your calendar for Glendale's award-winning holiday festival, Glendale Glitters. It begins tonight at 5 p.m. 
Santa Claus will make an appearance at Glendale Glitters. This holiday light show spectacular will use 1.5 million led lights and will illuminate 16 blocks of historic downtown Glendale

Free admission and free shuttles make this award-winning event family friendly. During opening weekend only, free shuttle transportation is provided from Glendale Community College (north parking lots.)

CitySkate and tree lighting begin today

For the seventh year in a row, close to 200,000 holiday revelers will descend upon CityScape Phoenix. Beginning today, you can take part in seven weeks of CitySkate, one of the Valleys largest and real outdoor ice rinks.

30th Annual "Nutcracker" Kicks-Off Friday

Ballet Etudes is excited to celebrate our 30th annual production of The Nutcracker this coming holiday season in Chandler and Mesa. As part of the celebration, Act I will feature brand new sets for both the Party and Fight Scenes along with several new costumes in Act II. The production, a family-favorite holiday event of East Valley residents for three decades, features a cast of over 100 with dancers from all over the Valley.

Mesa Merry Main Street

For the second consecutive year, Merry Main Street, presented by SRP and the Arizona Coyotes, will bring thousands of holiday revelers to downtown Mesa. The spectacular celebration of the season will be held Nov. 25 through Jan. 1. 

The festivities begin Friday, Nov. 25 from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. with an evening of music, food, and fun for everyone. Beginning with a program and tree lighting ceremony at 5:45 p.m. at Main Street and Macdonald, you can spend the evening strolling through downtown enjoying the sights and sounds of the holiday season.

Merry Main Street will again feature the Winter Wonderland Ice Rink of more than 4,000 square feet that will be open for 40 days. Last year, it attracted more than 10,000 ice skaters.

LDS Temple Lights

The Christmas Light Display at the Mesa Arizona Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day 
Saints will begin Friday, November 25th and run through Saturday, December 31st.  Lights are turned on nightly at 5:00 p.m. and turned off at 10:00 p.m.
