Hi, friends!

Heather and Travis Smith always talked about owning and operating their own business. Heather spent 20 years in the construction business and was contemplating opening up her own construction company. Instead, though, she turned from construction to cookies!

Heather recognized a growing trend in the baking industry four years ago, similar to America’s fascination with artistic cupcakes. Friends and family were asking for custom decorated sugar cookies, over and over again.

She would bake as a hobby and present her creations for gifts at the holidays. When she found other local  “cookiers” and a newly formed annual cookie conference attracting cookie decorators from all over the world, the recognition of the new cookie trend was solidified in Heather's mind as a legitimate  opportunity.

Smitholator Cookie Shop was born out of this desire to be creative, fill a need in the community and  to work for herself. With a sincere interest in all things vintage and mid-century, the look and feel of the company's brand started to form into what it is today. This is where the O-Lator in the name comes from.

Corporate cookie orders have been growing like crazy and the desire in the community to learn to decorate has also been a real pleasant surprise.

Smitholator wants to accentuate all of your special celebrations, encourage you with a creative cookie decorating outlet, supply your cookie decorating tools and give you a comfortable place to simply relax when you’re in Downtown Mesa  shopping and having fun.

Smitholator Cookie Shop is offering workshops this Saturday where you can decorate cookies and learn tricks of the trade.
