3TV'S Childhood Hunger Initiative
We are kicking off our 3TV Childhood Hunger Initiative this morning, and we're asking the community to pitch in and help. Our campaign runs through the month of September, as 3TV partners with Bashas', Safeway, Food City and Albertsons grocery stores to benefit seven organizations that meet the needs of our Valley's food insecure children. They do this by contributing to weekend backpack programs, where kids are discretely given a backpack of food at school so they don't go hungry over the weekend, to working with the families directly to meet their needs.

Rebuilding the Buffalo Chip

The Buffalo Chip is being rebuilt on an aggressive schedule, after a fire ravaged through the iconic restaurant. It is easily the most talked about construction project in the northern foothills, with a planned grand opening in mid-October. But, right now, the iconic Buffalo Chip Saloon & Steakhouse is rallying residents and visitors to join a first of-a-kind campaign, called Relics of the Past, which is focused on rebuilding the heart of the Buffalo Chip Saloon & Steakhouse. According to owner Larry Wendt, the Buffalo Chip, which currently is under reconstruction, plans to adorn a large wall inside of the new venue with western items, relics, photos and artifacts 8X10 and larger. Western aficionados can make a donation to "purchase" a space/place on the wall, which will become part of Buffalo Chip history. The western-filled wall, covered in love and memories, will bring good luck to the structure that will support the mighty Buffalo Chip as it emerges in fall 2016

The collection of items and space sign-ups will take place on Saturday, September 3 and Sunday, September 4 and Saturday, September 10 and Sunday, September 11, 2016 at the Chip from 11 AM to 4 PM. The Buffalo Chip Saloon & Steakhouse is located at 6823 E. Cave Creek Road, Cave Creek, Ariz., 85331.
