A man is dead after he was struck by a car while riding his bicycle Saturday night.
It happened around 8:30 p.m. near 43rd Avenue and Bethany Home Road.
The Phoenix Police Department on Monday identified the victim as Thomas J. Butler, 35.
The driver of the Chevy Tahoe that hit him did stay on the scene after the crash.
"The driver of the Tahoe displayed signs of impairment and he was processed for suspected driving under the Influence, cited and released," Officer James Holmes of the Phoenix Police Department said Sunday.
Investigators have not released that driver's name, saying only that he is a 39-year-old male.
Police said 43rd Avenue was closed in both directions from Bethany Home to Maryland Avenue while detectives completed the on-scene portion of their investigation.
