Sit-in for Lana at AAWL

The sit-in is on, for Lana at AAWL. Lana has been at the shelter for four months, which is considered a pretty long time for a pet. AAWL staff and volunteers will be sleeping with her inside her kennel to make her feel more at home, round the clock, until someone comes forward to adopt her, starting with Whitney Steele. Lana is a 4-year-old Bull Mastiff mix who is extremely loving and playful and loves sprinklers.

After dogs have been at the shelter for some time, they tend to get depressed, as they long for a forever home. Prolonged shelter life can effect a dog’s mood, and they do see that with some of the long-time residents. Like us, dogs can and do experience stress. Just as stress can make us feel afraid, edgy or irritable, it can do the same to dogs and have a detrimental effect on our behavior, health and overall well-being. AAWL is hoping the sit-in and sleep-over will make her feel more comfortable until she's adopted by a loving home.

The Arizona Animal Welfare League is the largest and oldest no-kill shelter in Arizona. AAWL rehomes and rehabilitates rescue animals across the state and over 5,000 animals that have been abandoned or surrendered by their owners will pass through the shelter each year. AAWL also has a clinic that spays and neuters animals and provides low cost microchip services. At any given time AAWL can shelter 140 cats and 190 dogs. To celebrate their 45th anniversary they will be lowering the adopting fee to $45 for dogs over six months and $4.50 for cats over six months old.  For more information visit

Helton Brewing Co.

People all over the world are obsessed with melty wheels of cheese. It's actually called Raclette, it's a melted cheese dish from Switzerland, and the new Helton Brewing Co. in Phoenix is offering it along with the best beer pairings to go along with it. Helton is a new brewery and taste room which opened inside a 10,000 sq. foot warehouse, where they'll soon start bottling their own signature craft beers.

At the Helton Brewing tasting room we offer education through taste. To complement our beers we offer an a la carte menu of cheese and charcuterie. They are sold by weight and are a fantastic addition when taking a growler home! Helton Brewing Company is a small brewery designed to add to the ever growing Arizona love of craft beer by leveraging the skills of the founder, brew master, and Certified Cicerone, Brian Helton.  Brian has won multiple World Beer Cup Awards and The Great American Beer Festival Awards. He has worked in the industry for nineteen years, which constitutes a generation as a brew master.

Josh Altman

Josh's claim to fame is being one of the three stars of the popular Bravo show, "Million Dollar Listing." A reality show that highlights the glitz and glamour of selling high-end real estate in Los Angeles, which also happens to be a very cut-throat market.

The agents on the show including Josh Flagg and Madison Hildebrand, use their charm and business savvy mannerisms to stay above the competition and overcome the LA housing slump. (Josh to share more details about working with the two agents.)

Josh is one of the co-hosts of the annual "Clever Summit" a comprehensive, fully engaging, life-altering three-day program that is hosted in the Valley by influential "movers-and-shakers" in the real estate industry and the event kicks off today at the DoubleTree Resort by Hilton at Paradise Valley Scottsdale and will continue throughout Sunday.

Josh and Cody, have garnered a team of equally as gravitating speakers including Tony Robbins' #1 Performance Trainer and Best Selling Author, Joseph McClendon III, an icon in motivational speaking and personal empowerment and fellow Clever Investor influencers, Preston Ely, Franklin Cruz and Matt Lietz.

Proceeds from the event go towards their charity of choice, "Hug it Forward," a non-profit organization that builds bottle schools for children in third world countries. Through this organization entire communities come together to build a more sustainable educational infrastructure for their future.

What most people don't realize is that it's actually fairly easy to start investing in real estate and you don't even need a license. People often assume it to be time consuming and impossible while having a full-time job, when in fact it is possible to make money in your spare time and keep your main business. The key to not letting it overwhelm you is to develop systems and automation-- you'll find yourself having MORE time, not less.
