IHOP Kids Eat Free

Summer is almost over and books and backpacks are on the brain. With back to school season drawing near, IHOP is here to help make the shift from summer to school a bit easier by bringing back the popular Kids Eat Free Deal! Families can come together and enjoy quality, fresh, made to order dishes from the regular menu and kids twelve and under can enjoy favorites such as the new Cheesy Cheese Pizza, with flaky, 27 layer, croissant dough crust topped with tangy marinara sauce and melted Monterey Jack & Cheddar Cheeses or classic favorites like the Create Your Own Rooty Tooty Jr., from the "Just for Kids" menu.  

The Kids Eat Free offer is available from August 1 September 25 from 4pm to 10pm daily.

Building Tomorrow's Engineers: LEGOLAND® Discovery Center Arizona Teams Up With Tempe Center for the Arts to Offer "LEGO® Bridge-Building Workshop

LEGOLAND® Discovery Center Arizona and the Tempe Center for the Arts are teaming up to offer tomorrow's engineers an opportunity to create, transform and inspire through LEGO Bridge Building Workshop from 12 pm - 2pm Saturday, Aug. 6th.  The workshop is conjunction with the Gallery at TCA's STEAM Exhibit (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics.) running now through September 17th. The exhibit offers weekly Saturday workshops, from 12 pm - 2 pm Saturday, Aug. 6, 2016. 

Kids and their families are invited to take part in this completely free, family-oriented workshops held at the Tempe Center for the Arts' new "Maker Space," (located at 700 W. Rio Salado Pkwy, Tempe). Participants and their families can enjoy interactive scientific displays that explore the connections among STEAM disciplines while crafting their own load-bearing bridges using LEGO® bricks provided by LEGOLAND® Discovery Center Arizona.

Brazilian Recipes-Loews Ventana Canyon Resort 

Cascade Lounge

2 oz. spiced rum
½ oz. cayenne infused simple syrup 
½ oz. lime juice
One chili powder dusted lime wheel

Shake rum, simple syrup and lime juice with ice. Strain into a rocks glass if served over ice or a martini glass to serve it up. Garnish with a chili powder dusted lime wheel.

Pao de Quejo (Brazilian cheese balls)

Makes 12-18 

2 cups tapioca flour
1 cup milk
3 tablespoons oil
1 cup grated parmesan cheese
¾ cup mozzarella cheese
1 egg
1 teaspoon salt


1.    Preheat oven to 400 degrees with a rack in the middle. 
2.    Combine the milk, oil, salt and egg in a blender and blend for 30 seconds. 
3.    Add the flour and blend again, now for 1 minute.
4.    With a rubber spatula scrape the sides making sure all of the flour is mixed in and blend again for  10 more seconds. 
5.    Add the cheeses and blend again for the last time for 1 minute. 
6.    Grease a mini muffin baking tray with oil spray.
7.    Pour dough to almost fill each tin.
8.    Bake for 15-20 minutes or until they are golden and puffed.
9.    Serve them hot.
