The man accused in the Phoenix freeway shootings appeared in court Thursday morning for a pretrial conference.

Leslie Allen Merritt, Jr. is charged with 15 counts, including endangerment, drive-by shooting, unlawful discharge of a firearm, aggravated assault, and disorderly conduct in connection with freeway shootings.

Merritt, a former landscaper, was arrested last September and is accused of four separate instances of shooting at vehicles on I-10 in August 2015.

Merritt’s next court date is set for April 29 at 1:30 p.m. His trial is scheduled for June 9.
