Endometriosis and ovarian cysts

Ovarian cysts are part of normal ovarian function and normal fertility. The vast majority of women have no problems with them at all.
Even when ovarian cysts cause problems, the problems are typically not life threatening.
Endometriosis affects a small percentage of women; some of them have symptoms. There are safe and effective treatments are available.
The presence or absence of ovarian cysts is generally not influenced by lifestyle factors.
If you experience pelvic pain during menstrual cycles or symptoms that are concerning you, contact your health care provider, don't just live with the pain. Endometriosis and ovarian cysts are not the only reasons that women can have pelvic pain; which is why consulting with your physician is important.
