Saddle Up for Arizona's Largest Gingerbread Village at JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort & Spa

The popular and talk of the town gingerbread village is set to arrive Nov. 30 at JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort & Spa with the Wild Western Winter Wonderland Holiday Gingerbread Village. The town will feature a 400-pound chocolate train, a train station, sheriff's station, O.K. Corral, and cowboys set amongst a candied desert landscape.

The resort's renowned gingerbread village is Arizona's largest gingerbread display, and the centerpiece of this year's creation is the impressive train station with a water tower and 400-pound train with an engine, car and caboose. The masterpiece of hand-crafted gingerbread houses with glistening gumdrops, chocolate and sugary icing plus live holiday characters to interact with, is open to the public in the resort's lobby.

The JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort's pastry team, consisting of 10 pastry chefs, spent more than 400 hours crafting this year's terrific Wild West Christmas Gingerbread Village. The magnificent display includes 900 square feet of confectionary indulgence with 2,000 pounds of gingerbread cookie dough, 1,000 pounds of chocolate, and 700 pounds of sugar and candy.

Children can meet Santa's elves, who will make special live character appearances between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Saturdays through Jan. 3.

Monday Makeover: Pixie

It's one of the hottest styles right now, the Pixie is becoming even more popular as women get their hair cut into this boyish-yet-still-feminine-style. In fact, the pixie is so popular, it's the number one short hairstyle on certain hair blogs and one of the hottest styles of 2015. It's edgy, yet feminine. It can be cute, sexy, sophisticated or funky.

While many pixies are traditionally short all over, the modern pixie tends to be choppy and texturized with longer bangs that give you a ton of styling options. You'll see examples of the choppy, texturized pixie.

Will the Pixie Suit You?
There are 2 things to keep in mind with the pixie: face shape and hair texture. Here are a few rules of thumb when it comes to the pixie, although keep in mind I firmly believe beauty rules are meant to be broken:
The pixie works best on women with thick, naturally wavy hair.
If you have fine, straight hair, you run the risk of hair falling to close to the scalp, looking a bit like
Helmet. If you have fine hair, you may need lots of product to add body.
The pixie works best on women with heart-shaped, square and oval faces.
The pixie is a good option for women with round faces, just make sure to keep the bangs long and
Style them forward or up to create the illusion of length
