Costco Chicken Salad Recall

The CDC has issued a recall on Costco Chicken Salad. The salad has been linked to an E-Coli outbreak.
The outbreak has occurred in seven states and at least 19 people have been reported sick.

The CDC and state health officials are investigating but have not determined what ingredient in the rotisserie chicken salad could be the source of the outbreak.

If you have bought the chicken salad in late October or November and has the label number 37719, throw it out.

Local Love: Silver & Sage

Since 2011, Silver & Sage has created simple, natural and beautiful jewelry designs. From handsome bracelets and lightweight earrings to intricate necklaces and meaningful malas, Silver & Sage offers individuals a wearable reflection of their own spirit and a reminder of their own life's journey.

Founder & lead designer, Logan Mauldin Milliken, began her love of design at a young age, as she spent her childhood accompanying her mother on jewelry buying trips around the world.

Using natural stones, handmade silver charms & accents of pearl, crystal, leather and wood, each design is hand-crafted in Scottsdale, Arizona. The balance of symbolism with naturally inspired elements invites women and men of all ages to connect with Silver & Sage, making each design much more than an accessory, but a reflection of their own story.

Meditation and Malas is an intimate and unforgettable experience where you will learn the tradition behind mala beads. Yoga Instructor, Jenn Chiarelli will lead the group in a cleansing asana practice and guided meditation designed to help clear obstacles that hold you back from reaching your potential. After setting an intention, you will work with Silver & Sage to design your own custom stone mala. Your mala will be made for you by Silver & Sage and available to pick up within two weeks.

Adoption Month

November is recognized as National Adoption Awareness Month. While all adoption-related issues are important, the particular focus of this month is the adoption of children currently in foster care. We spoke with the Arizona Association for Foster and Adoptive Parents about this important issue and their organization.

The Arizona Association for Foster and Adoptive Parents was founded in 2003 to serve the foster, adoptive and kinship families who care for Arizona’s most vulnerable children. We are all volunteers, and all foster and adoptive parents.

We believe there is strength in numbers, and in speaking with one voice for Arizona's foster and adoptive families. Please join us and help to make all of us stronger and better in our service to the children in Arizona! We celebrated our 10 year anniversary in 2013 and now look toward an exciting 2015.  We will be honoring volunteers, sponsoring events and directly helping our members and families. AZAFAP is also inviting all foster, adoptive and kinship families to join our Association for FREE. Premier memberships, that include extra member benefits, are still available for $50 for a couple and $35 for individual membership

Black Friday Map

Deal Diva Alicia Markham says that you may want to study a map of the store you are going to shop at. Many stores place items in various areas off the store. For example Target which will open its doors on doors on Thanksgiving night at 6pm place it electronics in various areas.

The big door buster deals aren't where you'd think they'd be.

The biggest door buster this year in my opinion is the 55 inch 1080p Westinghouse TV for $249.99, usually $599.99. The tickets to buy should be given out in line.
Other TV deals will be in the maternity area.
The video game deals like the $299.99 Xbox One Console with $60 Target gift card deal you'll find in menswear.
The toy doorbuster deals like the $18 Razor scooter and the $85 Audi ride on will be in the seasonal area.
The DVD area is in girls’ clothing (prices as low as $2).
There are lots of Black Friday deals at Target available online and in store TODAY!
Score the Beats Solo headphones for $96.99, usually $199.99.
Get a free $100 Target gift card when you buy an Apple Watch.
Get a Shark Steam Cleaner for $49.99, save $50!
