How Giving a Little can Financially Help You A Lot
Nancy Tengler of Arizona Bank and Trust and Author of The Women's Guide to Successful Investing is here to explain that giving even just a little is beneficial for both you, the charity and the economy.
Make sure the charity is a registered non-profit organization or corporation, there are many scams this time of year.
Take the money you saved at the gas pump and put it towards a charitable donation. If you are investing and you should be, and received considerable gains, a charitable contribution could help offset what you may owe in taxes a win win for the donor and the charity.
Choose a charity or charities that resonates with you and ask specifically what your donation will be put towards. Even a clothing donation counts, get a receipt for all your efforts

Fall Beauty Hacks
We love Fall but NOT the way the cooler air dries out our skin! It's been pretty chilly lately and if your skin and hair are suffering, you're not alone! Val Lodato, fashion guru gives some tips and amazing products to help you survive the season's fluctuating weather!
First tip: Protect your face. Cold wind can be just as aging as sun exposure, so keep your skin hydrated. Switch to a richer moisturizer or boost your skincare regime with a natural beauty oil. Pure plant oils are excellent for dry or sensitized winter skin, delivering much needed hydration and nourishment. We love: Gemstone Organic is a line of "organic juice" for your skin that combines plants, healing waters, and minerals to soothe and moisturize. That means no preservatives, no additives, no synthetics, fragrances or alcohols. The creators of Gemstone Organic believe that if you wouldn't put it in your mouth, you shouldn't put it on your skin, so Gemstone's line is filled with food-grade ingredients grown on an organic farm where the soil is infused with healing gems and crystals to help the plants grow strong to become healing medicine for your skin. Think fresh organic rose water, aloe, coconut and apricot oil, sage, thyme, rosemary and more! $34 and up. Available http://www.gemstoneorganic.com
The combo of cold wind and indoor heat is super drying to our skin. Paired with piping hot showers, your body is dying for exfoliation and moisture.
For dry arms, back and legs, we love Sabon NYC's hero product, Body Scrub. Sabon's Body Scrub is enriched with Dead Sea Salt and natural oils including Vitamin E, Almond Oil, Jojoba Oil and Borage Oil. There's also the Body Gel Polisher, a liquid soap with crushed rice granules to cleanse and exfoliate the skin in one simple step. Both are Paraben Free and available in several yummy scents. After your shower, you'll love Sabon's Body Oil be sure to apply it when your skin is damp, so your pores can drink up the moisture! http://www.sabonnyc.com/
If you have the time for a bath, we love Buckaroo Organics' Fresh Farm Fizzies Organic Egg Bombs. These handcrafted organic bath bombs are a major hit with moms and kiddos. The Egg Bombs add nourishment to delicate skin with a relaxing aroma.
Also from Buckaroo Organics we all need our beauty sleep, so opt for Sleepy Spurs Neck and Foot Rub, a unique balm made with organic ingredients and a special blend of certified pure essential oils suggested to calm and increase those important hours of sleep.
Another goody from this line: The Ropin' and Riding Respiratory Rub! This soothing rub will ease congestion and support the body's natural immune to fight off the common cold. Made with Eucalyptus Radiata, which is the gentlest form of a Eucalyptus, so it's suitable for young children. Great natural way to fight the sniffles! Find this trio and more at:http://www.buckaroo-organics.com
Speaking of cold season. We all know how important it is to wash our hands, so opt for a hand soap with natural botanicals, such as Essenza! Essenza is formulated with aloe, shea butter and essential oils to give it an amazing aroma it moisturizes while fighting yucky germs! Comes in pump bottles and can be found at Target, Walgreens, select Bed, Bath & Beyond and online at: www.omplabs.com
Another area you may not think about, but should -- the delicate skin under your armpits. Putting on deodorant is an important part of your beauty routine and Rustic MAKA has you covered. The line is called "Pachy" which means underarms in Polish. It's 100% aluminum free. Made with organic and vegan ingredients, including organic coconut oil and shea butter, combined with the perfect mix of essential oils and baking soda to provide all day odor protection. The best part of the Rustic MAKA line is that it actually works unlike many natural deodorants. Choose from Wild Meadows, Calming Fields, Citrus Gardens, Sweet Lemonade. $11.95 for full size. $7.95 for travel size. Available at: http://www.rusticmaka.com/
With your hair and scalp already vulnerable to dullness and flaking due to cold air, blow drying with a traditional brush can just add to the damage. Instead, opt for a brush with a copper core, such as the Fromm Copper Core Thermal Brush. The copper core is antimicrobial, killing over 88% of bacteria. The result? No build-up, flakes, or scalp itchiness. The brush also features a 100% pure boar bristle strip, which shines hair and leaves it looking lustrous and sleek. www.folica.com/tools/brushes/1907-thermal-round-brush
Also, avoid washing hair daily, which could mean lots of pony tails! You can glam up your ponies with these chic hair ties:
Bloom Black Ties, is a collection of hair elastics to wear in the hair or as bracelets on your wrist. So much for the boring hair elastics we used to wear. They come in many in different styles and colors. http://www.bloomblackties.com
Another swank option: functional fashion accessory company, Bittersweet has just launched its 2016 collection of patented bracelets designed to integrate the always needed hair tie, with stylish jewelry. The unique design holds a hair tie in place while doubling as a bracelet, pure genius. Available at: www.bittersweet.is
Holiday Road Trip with Triple A
As the Thanksgiving holiday approaches, the roads will be congested with holiday travelers. Triple A give us some tips for the road and for the family this way you can enjoy your trip,
GENERAL ROAD TRIP TPS
Best time to leave
-Avoid traffic by leaving early Thursday morning vs. Wednesday. If you must travel Wednesday, leave early in the morning and later in the evening.
Plan ahead for airport parking
- If you are flying, be ready to navigate airport parking. Better yet, find and reserve a space online to save time and money.
Ready your ride
-Make sure your car is in good working order if you haven't had a thorough inspection under the hood since summer make an appointment with your trusted technician today.
-Download apps that can make life on the road easier, like AAA Mobile, which provides door-to-door instructions, gas stations and points of interest along your route.
Expect the unexpected
-Don't forget an emergency car care kit and beef it up to include winter weather essentials depending on your destination.
FAMILY TRAVEL TIPS
Make a list and check it twice
-Packing for multiple people can be stressful. Write out a packing list for each member of the family. Depending on the age of your kids, give them their list and enlist their help in getting their belongings together.
-You can also use this list to make sure nothing gets left behind on your way home.
-Use packing cubes to make your suit case more organized and to make life easier when living out of a suitcase.
-Pack age appropriate entertainment for children in your traveling party
-With school age children, for example, bring a bag/backpack something they can carry themselves complete with travel games, workbooks, coloring books, comfort items, etc. Older children may enjoy a travel journal. You don't have to spend a lot, but these items should be new and not items your child plays with on a regular basis.
Bring snacks and lots of them!
- A good way to keep kiddos happy on a road trip or on a plane is to keep them full.
-If you're driving, pack a cooler full of snacks and drinks that are easily accessible in the vehicle.
-Don't put the cooler in the back so you need to stop the car every time you hear "I'm hungry, Mommy," which can be as soon as you turn off your street and then about every 30 minutes on your drive.
-If you're flying, check the TSA website for a list of food you can and can't bring through security.
Gather your gadgets
-Smartphones and tablets are great ways to keep kids entertained, but don't forget to power them up and bring portable chargers for the road.
