Job, Community Fair Set at MSC Northwest Campus Nov.17
Maricopa Skill Center (MSC), a division of GateWay Community College, is hosting ConnectFest, a job and community resource fair at its Northwest Campus on 29th Ave & Bell Road. The job fair is today, November 17th and runs from 1 pm to 6 pm.
ConnectFest brings community agencies, employers and MSC/Maricopa Community Colleges educational offerings all under one roof.
Employers representing industries, such as beauty & wellness, construction, customer service, entertainment, food grocers, healthcare and so much more will be looking for potential employees. Nearly 20 companies will be on hand to meet individuals.
In addition, community agencies representing various services will be available to discuss resources available in the community.
MSC will provide enrollment and financial aid guidance, along with program information for those interested in enrolling in programs.

If your office is like ours, people are getting sick. So how can you prevent yourself from not getting sick in the office? Health coach and personal trainer Lindsay Hunt gives us 5 tips on keeping healthy and not getting sick.
1. Keep your immune system strong and you won't get sick!
a. Plenty of sleep, exercise, monitor stress, eat tons of fruits and veggies, cut out sugar it weakens your immune system
2. Keep an emergency healthy food stash at your desk
a. Zinc + Vitamin C - Forget to take your supplements? Bring them to work... if you look at them all day you will likely take them!
b. Tea + Raw Local Honey + Lemon + Apple Cider Vinegar (super immune boosting drink + will fight off a cold)
c. Fruits and veggies high in vitamin c like lemons, kiwi, oranges. Pair with nuts for a perfect balanced snack that will also ward off cravings.
3. Water is essential
a. Water oxygenates your blood and flushes out toxins. If you don't drink enough water toxins will build up which can weaken immune system
b. Always have a big water on your desk. Set alerts on your phone/calendar to remind you to drink water. Water bottle should be finished by the end of day.2.2 liters (4 16oz water bottles) for women men 3 liters (5 16 oz. water bottle)
4. Keep your desk space clean, but don't overdo it
a. Natural hand sanitizer
b. Don't touch your eyes/face; don't use communal eating areas or devices (coffee maker, communal sugar bowl,creamer, etc.)
5. If you feel the cold coming on
a. Bring home cooked foods packed full of veggies
b. Grab a fresh pressed juice
c. Double up on your normal healthy immune system fighters
d. Foods high in vitamin C lemons, kiwi fruit, capsicum and broccoli

Mesa's beloved family owned breakfast spot, T.C.
