Jaime Cerreta

She anchors Good Morning Arizona Saturday and Sunday mornings from 6-10 AM and hosts Jaime's Local Love Wednesday mornings on Good Morning Arizona.

Jaime's appeared on CNN, FOX, and The Weather Channel covering deadly tornadoes, powerful hurricanes, and even reporting live from within a dust storm at I-10 and Pecos. That video went viral and was broadcast on newscasts around the world and would ultimately win Jaime an Emmy for her role in the KTVK Monsoon special.

Jaime created her own franchise called Jaime's Local Love in which she shines the light on local business owners. Being the granddaughter of the founder of the Cerreta Candy Company, she watched as her grandfather, father, and aunts and uncles worked tirelessly to create their own business and has much respect for the entrepreneurial spirit. Jaime's Local Love is recognized largely in the small business community and has been featured by Phoenix Magazine.

Arizona Foothills Magazine named Jaime one of the Most Eligible Phoenicians and Arizona Foothills readers voted Jaime Arizona's "News Anchor of the Year". The Scottsdale Unified School District Foundation recently inducted Jaime into its Hall of Excellence.

Jaime is a product of the Scottsdale School system! She was born and raised in Arizona and went to Cherokee, Cocopah and Chaparral. She took dance and drama and always had a love of writing. But it was watching Channel One News in high school that inspired her to pursue news.

Jaime graduated from Arizona State University's Walter Cronkite School of Broadcast Journalism. She served as anchor, reporter, producer and photographer in Joplin and Springfield, Missouri, Beaumont, Texas, and Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Throughout that time, she would cover some of Mother Nature's hardest hits. She was one of the first anchors back on the air after a hurricane evacuation in Beaumont. She would anchor hours of coverage with no teleprompter and no script.

In Oklahoma City, she sat on the anchor desk for 12 hours at a time after deadly tornadoes devastated the city. 14 years later, Jaime landed an anchor/reporter job right here in her hometown of Phoenix.

With people being Jaime's greatest passion, it is a priority to her to engage in the community. She has been a committed advocate for Alzheimer's for more than a decade now, emceeing both the Walk to End Alzheimer's in Oklahoma City for 7 years, and now emceeing the Love Not Forgotten Gala every year in Phoenix.

Jaime is dedicated to helping the arts programs in Arizona schools and is a friend to the Scottsdale League for the Arts. She has a standing role as a food judge (yes!) at the Scottsdale Culinary Festival then delights in taking to the stage to announce and interview the winners. Jaime is also a supporter of Kaity's Way. It is an outreach and awareness program for domestic violence in teenage relationships.

Jaime won Oklahoma Associated Press Awards for Election Coverage and Best Newscast. She was voted Oklahoma Magazine's Best of the Best during her 7 years as main anchor at KOKH FOX 25 in Oklahoma City. She strives to be her best, bring her viewers the most accurate and newest information and is committed to bringing joy, love and passion to her work. And if the job requires Jaime hop in the dunk tank or get on the trapeze, she will do whatever she can to make sure you start your day with a smile. She has a true zest for life and wants to share her love of the Valley with you.

Jaime spends her free time with her friends and family and loves playing tourist in her hometown. She's attempting a couple new hobbies -- tennis and ukelele! Jaime's a total foodie with a maddening sweet tooth. When she was a little girl, her mom and dad owned a Mary Coyle Ice Cream. Jaime's father helped build the Cerreta Candy Company with his father and his brothers. Jaime is so proud of the family business and its 50 years in Glendale. While Cerreta Candy is famous for its little green mint-- The French Mint Truffle-- Jaime's favorite pieces of Cerreta Candy are the Peanut Butter Pizazz and English Toffee.

Jaime's sister, Molly, is a talented writer in the Valley. Her brother-in-law is a competitive BBQ pit master with his own line of Loot 'N' Booty BBQ rubs and sauces. Jaime is absolutely convinced Phoenix is paradise and her favorite place to be is any patio with a view of Camelback Mountain.
