PRESCOTT VALLEY (3TV/CBS 5) -

"I'm excited!" scam victim Diana Alvarez exclaimed.

Alvarez may be excited now but things sure were different a few weeks ago when she was profiled on 3 On Your Side.

“I was like, 'What? You can't do this to me!'" she said.

Alvarez, who lives in Prescott Valley, said she'd had been looking for a small dog and thought she found the perfect one online. The seller just requested a delivery fee for the puppy.

“I was to [send a] money order [for] $150 to her, and she gave me all of her information, so I did. I went to MoneyGram and I sent it," Alvarez said.

But it was all a scam. There really was no dog, and Alvarez realized she was ripped off for $150.

However, after seeing that 3 On Your Side report, the Arizona Small Dog Rescue wanted to get involved and make things right.

“We wanted to help Diana out and we had her look at some of our dogs, and she has picked out a really cute puppy," Kimberly Smith with Arizona Small Dog Rescue said.

3 On Your Side was there when Alvarez drove down to Phoenix to finally meet the puppy, named Cash, for the first time.

She had seen the little guy in pictures listed by the rescue organization, but on this day she got to hold him for the first time.

“Ahh! Oh my gosh, you are so cute! Hi baby! You are adorable!” Alvarez said.

Adopting dogs like Cash usually costs around $280 but the Arizona Small Dog Rescue was kind enough to waive the charge, knowing that Alvarez had been a scam victim.

“I feel great about it. Finding dogs homes is what we do," Smith said.

Alvarez said she couldn’t be happier with Cash.

“I'm just excited I get to take a puppy home and surprise my kids after school," she said.

Alvarez said she's thrilled to have a new addition to her family and that she couldn't have done it without the Arizona Small Dog Rescue and 3 On Your Side.

“Thank you to everybody, and I'm so excited and I'm so grateful!  He's getting a Cardinals jersey for sure," she said.

Alvarez sent us a picture of Cash in that Cardinals jersey.  A big thank you to the Arizona Small Dog Rescue. For more information on the organization, click here.

Do you have a muscle cramp that’s putting a cramp in your day? Wouldn’t a massage feel great right about now? Some people are skipping traditional masseuses or massage equipment, saying all you need to ease your pain is right in your garage.
