Fit Tea

You've seen those ads with abs shrinking and showing all the wonderful result of detox teas.  The most popular one right now FIT TEA which is all over instagram.  So do these detox teas brew results or have you taking a "steep" in the wrong direction.  Weight Loss Expert, Dr. Robb Bird of TransformYou Weight Loss Clinic shows what is FIT TEA and how it works.

Let's first take a look at FIT TEA which is comprised of
Organic Green Tea - catechins help speed metabolism and fat burning
Oolong Wu Yi, has Polyphenols which may help boost metabolism
Organic Rooibos  is naturally sweet and some studies show it may help even out blood sugare levels
Ginger  studies have shown Ginger to be a natural appetite suppresant
Pomegranate  high in antioxidant, but if you were to eat the actual pomegranate seeds you would get the weight loss fiber benefits
Guarana  Can suppress appetite and kickstart the lipolysis process to release fat into the blood stream
Birch   Has diuretic properties with some finding that it can help release cellulite causing toxin
Stevia  is an all natural sweetner with no calories and little to no blood sugar spikes
Corn Powder  Can work like a natural diuretic
Honey Powder is a natural sweetener

So if you are going to do a tea detox remember this is probably just short term weight loss
Many detox teas contain a laxative to clean out the colon
Many Detox teas contain a diuretic to help you lose water weight
You will want to make sure you are drinking plenty of water during a detox to flush out toxins and prevent dehydration
While this may give you a jump start, longterm weight loss is result of eating clean and exercising

Millenial Savings

Millenials, often bounce around the job market, take time off to raise kids and put retirement on the back burner.  Some millennials may have as many as 20 employers before they retire.  Seeing their parents burned by the stock market, they may have a stagnant 401k from an old job or have yet to vest or invest.  Nancy Tengler of Arizona Bank & Trust and author of The Women's Guide to Successful Investing is here to tell you why millennials and the markets need to make-up and move-on.

It sounds simple, but roll over your 401K into an IRA you'll actually gain more investment options then your previous company's 401K and the conversion is free.

If you get a new job, make sure your company is matching the 401K and contribute to it.  Don't forget about that IRA either.  If you are able to contribute to put aside extra money contribute to that, too.

Investing in stocks is another options and I will give some of my coined "Intelligent Investment Rules"
Be Mostly Right  Intelligent Investment Rule #1: Having any investment discipline is better than having no discipline at all; once your investment strategy is established, never deviate. (But if you fall off the wagon, don't give up, get right back on and stay the course.)
Finish, but don't race to the finish - Intelligent Investment Rule #2:  Don't run with the fast crowd:  Establish a discipline that meets your objectives.  Never chase total return and never, never, never buy a stock in a company you do not understand or does not meet your risk and investing objectives.
Buy great companies at a bargain price - Intelligent Investment Rule #10:  Stocks to own for a lifetime should be the stocks of great companies that are industry and brand leaders with a track record of sound, ethical management.  The survivors, who dominate their industry.  Build a portfolio of great companies across economic sectors for your lifetime holdings.

Buy stock like you buy toilet paper - Intelligent Investment Bonus Rule (not roll): Focus on price and yield.

Citrine Transit Center

Chef Pete DeRuvo's brand new spot, Citrine, is now open -- actually inside the Tempe Transit Center.
It's Tempe's newest upscale food destination. It's a total modern twist to an Italian restaurant.

Citrine is the second effort from the same chef-restaurateur duo, who have teamed up at EVO in Scottsdale. That restaurant's known for its late-night crowd and for DeRuvo's handmade pastas. In comparison, Citrine will be more casual, more approachable, and slightly more affordable.

We got a peek at DeRuvo's working menu, which includes a 25-layer lasagna along with a number of other dishes and cocktails. Citrine will also serve the well-loved "crispy focaccia DeRuvo"  it's a cheesy flatbread the chef has made famous. Alongside the usual options such as a Caesar salad and margherita pizza, DeRuvo's bringing upscale ingredients including bone marrow, oysters, and foie gras that have been sparse on the Tempe scene.

DeRuvo's also designed a "sushi-style" menu of cheeses and salumi so that diners can build their own charcuterie boards just by checking off a few boxes. Prices range from $3 to $8, and is designed to appeal to experienced and inexperienced diners.

The space is bright, beautiful and buzzy with the light rail and bus station right outside the windows. It's a pretty cool spot and sure to be a Tempe hot spot!
