Walk to School Day

Hundreds of kids are walking to school today in honor of International Walk to School Day. Walk and Bike to School Day was developed to help reduce traffic congestion and air pollution around schools, while encouraging physical fitness among students. Students will also learn various safe routes to schools designated by school officials. This day is all about awareness and teaching families about alternative ways of travel. We hope to motivate people to use some of these alternative modes that will reduce traffic as well as offer a health benefit to our community. City officials recommend that students walk or bike to school with a group of friends, and that students who are in kindergarten through third grade be accompanied by an adult.

Prepare for a night of glitz and glamour at the 26th annual NiteFlite Gala hosted by the Scottsdale Active 20-30 Club. The highly anticipated semi-formal event will be a block party in the Entertainment District of Old Town on Saturday, October 10.
