Family members of the accused freeway shooter are now speaking out about the arrest.
On Friday evening, DPS arrested Leslie Allen Merritt, in connection with the case.
DPS says he is "forensically linked" to the first 4 shootings.

Following his arrest, we spoke to the suspect's father and his mother-in-law.
Leslie Allan Merritt, Sr. says "Whoever thinks my son is the I-10 shooter is a moron."
Meantime, his future mother-in-law, Cynthia Sauceda, told us she thinks there's no way he played any part in the shootings.
"I'm just saying he's not like that, that's not even him, that's not in his heart," she said.
In a brief but emotional interview in the parking lot Sauceda described the father of her grandchildren as someone with a big heart saying he would not do this.
"Especially when he's working hard to support his two kids, this is his son and he goes to work and he does everything that he is supposed to be doing," said Sauceda.
She said she came over the Wal-Mart after learning of his arrest online. She was concerned about her daughter and granddaughter who were both with him at the time.
Sauceda said she doesn't know what made him a target but is adamant that DPS has the wrong guy.
"He's not an animal trust me I know, I know he's not," she said.
