MESA, AZ (3TV/CBS 5) -

DPS officials now say two incidents reported on the Loop 202 may be related to the I-10 shootings investigation. This, after at least two people reported to DPS their vehicles were hit by projectiles in the Gilbert area.

"I heard a crack and I smelled the smell, like a firecracker or like a burning; something was burning. So I looked and noticed a crack and that's when I panicked," said Corinne Packer.

She described the terrifying moments Thursday morning while on the 202 around 9:20. She was headed westbound and had just passed the Power Road exit when her car was struck.  She says she purposely avoided the I-10 for the last couple of weeks and was stunned she became victim on another freeway system. "I figured I was safe there but I was wrong," she said

DPS says she may not be the only victim along the 202. "The troopers were taking my pictures and some information and another call came in. That car was hit by a projectile in the same exact location and that person had exited off before I did," said Packer.

There are 11 confirmed incidents now, but so far no arrests. "It was very scary. I was shaking, crying. It was something you think will happen to somebody else, something you see on the news. You don't feel like it's going to happen to you" she said.
