(3 ON YOUR SIDE) -

Step into Laura Greene's master bathroom and it doesn't take long to figure out it's going through a major remodeling job.

"This here is going to be all tile," Greene said, pointing to the bathtub area. "All black carpet is going to go back down, too."

There are remodeling plans for nearly every room, including her bedroom. She wants to replace the door that leads outside.

She said the one she has now is just old. She wants something more modern, with glass.

"I want a brand new door with a new frame," she said. "I wanted a door with a window that you could open so fresh air could come in."

Greene hired a company called United Glass. After taking some measurements, the company said it could fabricate a custom door for around $1,800 and requested $925 to get the door started.

But that was two months ago. Not only does Greene not have her door, she saids she can't reach anyone at United Glass.

"Sometimes, it wouldn't even go to voice mail," she said. "It would be a recorded message through the phone carrier that said this person cannot be reached at this time."

3 On Your Side got involved and we went to a couple of different addresses listed for United Glass.

We eventually received an email from the company's owner saying he would immediately return the $925 to 3 On Your Side so we could in turn give it to Greene.

"Thank you for your time, patience and for helping our community," he wrote.

The very next day, our cameras recorded a man walking into our 3TV lobby and dropping off two checks totaling $925.

Of course, we couldn't wait to get those checks to Greene. She was thrilled that 3 On Your Side got her money back for her.

"I'd like to thank Gary Harper and the whole 3 On Your Side team," she said. "You guys only took four days to get our money back and we have been trying for two months."

"So, if it wasn't for 3 On Your Side, we would still be out $925," she continued.

While the owner of United Glass never gave specifics or explained to 3 On Your Side why the company initially kept the money and stopped calling Greene, we appreciate the resolution.

    Consumer trend: The gender gap

The fashion industry purposely has an identity crisis lately with men's inspired clothing for women and women's silhouettes hitting the runways and racks for men. But now clothing lines are going even further by taking gender out of the equation completely. Is this trend simply a fashion fad? Or is it something more? 3 On Your Side's Gary Harper has the lowdown on 'gender neutral' clothing. (Friday, Jan. 27, 2017)
