National Yoga Month
We live in a stress world. We suffer aches and pains. One way to relief the stress, aches and pains is through yoga. September is National Yoga month Yoga month has expanded into a nationally recognized awareness campaign and national observance, contributing tools to inspire health and harmony in life through yoga. 

The numerous benefits of yoga include stress management, increased flexibility, relaxation, stronger muscles and connective tissue, among many others.  A regular practice encourages an overall well-being that many yogis from all walks of life can attest to.

These immense health benefits of yoga have been proven countless times, yet the Yoga Health Foundation challenges people to experience yoga for themselves and share its positive physical and mental effects.  

A new studio in Scottsdale, Power Train Yoga, is also offering a FREE two weeks of yoga, providing the tools for beginners to try yoga, and for experienced yogis to expand their practice.

Rockit Scholarship

Jerome Film Festival
The Jerome Route 89A Indie Film & Music Festival takes place this Thursday Sept 3rd-6th in Jerome and for the first time, will be featuring Mike Watkiss's award winning documentary about polygamy, Warren Jeffs, Colorado City and the underground railroad. This year, it will feature three festival villages. One is Jerome (Old High School), Clarkdale (Clark Memorial Clubhouse and Old Town Cottonwood (Tea House). Festival Village Centers are the hub of each village. They will also be playing films on a train for passengers to enjoy.

Sautéed Shrimp & Scallop with Kale & Cork Screw Pasta
4 Shrimp
4 Scallops
1 pound of Cork Screw Pasta
1 pound of Kale
1 Tablespoon of Garlic
4 Tablespoons of Butter
1 Tablespoon of Shallots
1 Teaspoon of Salt & Pepper

Heat a large skillet and melt 2 tablespoons of butter and soften shallots. Sautee shrimp and scallops for 3 minutes on each side. Finish with Garlic, sauté© for 1 minute.

In a second hot skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter and add Kale, sauté© until soft and tender, about 5 minutes and season with salt and pepper.

Boil cork screw pasta to aldente 

On a large plate, place Kale and Pasta and mix together. Top with cooked shrimp and scallop, serve hot.
