Divorce Mediation

Divorce can be tough especially on children. Michael Aurit, an expert in Divorce mediation shows ways to maintain a positive relationship during this process. He shows us four commitments you can make as co-parents that will change the course of your children’s live.

-Choose a healthier divorce: The best decision divorcing spouses can make is choosing divorce mediation and enlisting the help of a qualified neutral mediator. By avoiding court and engaging in respectful communication, parents will stay in control of their own future and lower their family's stress level.

-Be open and honest in advance: Parents should agree upon a truthful, carefully framed "mutual story of the divorce" will allow children to view divorce as a family re-organization rather than a family break-up.

-Never argue with or criticize the other co-parent in front of the children: A condescending comment or a display of anger will cause unnatural stress on children and can make them feel belittled and lower their self-esteem.

-Proactively support a child's relationship with the co-parent: Positively reinforcing a co-parent when communicating with your children will advance healthy child development.
