Aunt Chilada's creates shark tacos for Shark Week

Aunt Chilada's Phoenix is taking a bite out of Shark Week with some great "shark-related" dishes. Chef JD Allison shared these recipes for shark tacos and the accompanying ceviche.

Shark Tacos:

1 pound of Mako Shark
4 Tbsp olive oil
1 Tsp salt
1 Tsp pepper
1 Tbsp chili flake
Flour tortillas
Lime wedges
Lemon wedges
1 head shredded cabbage
"Shark Bite" Hot Sauce


Marinade Shark Steaks with olive oil, salt, pepper, and chili flakes over night in a plastic bag.

Once marinated cook shark steaks in a hot fry pan until slightly blackened.  Or grill until completely white through and through, similar to the texture of cooked swordfish.

Shred shark meat and insert into tortillas.  Top with shredded cabbage, hot sauce, and garnish with a lemon and a lime.

Shark Bite Pineapple Salsa:

1 whole pineapple cut into cubes
2 Jalapeño minced
1 Tbsp minced cilantro
1 minced garlic clove
1 Tbsp minced onion
1 Tbsp "Marie Sharps" hot sauce
Salt to taste

Combine all ingredients and allow time to refrigerate.  Use as a topping on shark tacos.
