Arizona Diamondbacks first baseman Paul Goldschmidt was named as a starter for the National League All-Star team.

He received over 9 million votes -- the most ever for a D-backs player.

Goldschmidt becomes the first D-backs player to be elected a starter twice.

He is hitting .348 with 20 homers and 67 RBIs this season.

The only other D-backs players to earn fan-elected starts in the Midsummer Classic are second baseman Jay Bell (1999), third baseman Matt Williams (1999) and outfielder Luis Gonzalez (2001).

The 86th All-Star Game takes place in Cincinnati on July 14.
