Last-minute Travel Deals
With the Fourth of July coming, you may want to get out of the heat and get out of town or you may want to stay in one of the great resorts in the Valley or Tucson. Travel expert Michelle Donti from AAA has last-minute trip ideas for you.
Cruising Control: While not the least expensive option, last-minute cruises to a tropical paradise are still a possibility for Fourth of July adventurers. For example, Royal Caribbean Cruise Line is offering a three-day cruise in the Bahamas from $583.
North for the Fourth: Cooler climates and higher elevations await travelers who head north. Searching for cabins in the White Mountains and hotels in towns such as Flagstaff still showed availability, starting at $67 a night.
Parks and Rec: Next year, our national parks system turns 100. Beat the rush and take in one of the 22 magnificent national parks in Arizona, such as Canyon de Chelly or even the Grand Canyon. Admission fees range from free to $30.
Close to Home: Sometimes the least stressful trip is one that keeps you close to home. Thanks to sizzling deals at local resorts, a staycation might be the easiest - and least expensive - option for last-minute travelers. Phoenix- and Tucson-area resorts are starting at about $130 a night.
