The Summer Technology Institute brought together more than 400 educators for two days of technology training.
Teachers learned how to get the most out of the latest programs, including Google Apps for Education. The hope is that they will take what they learn and use it in their classrooms next year.
Jaime Casap, Google's global education evangelist, was the keynote speaker. He talked about unleashing the power of technology in education.
Tom Greaves was a second keynote speaker. He is the founder of Project Red and is a visionary when it comes to the design of technology solutions for schools.
Workshops included using Chromebooks on campus, SMARTBoard basics, integrating technology with K-12 students, using video in the classroom, PBS learning, the Hour of Code, and online math resources.
There were more than 100 workshops offered during the two-day event at Campo Verde High School in Gilbert.
