Arizona ranks 44th in country for safety

When it comes to safety, Arizona has a lot to work on.

Arizona is the eighth-most deadly state to live in, according to a new study by WalletHub.

That's in part because Arizona has one of the highest pedestrian fatality rates and the third-highest percentage of people with no health insurance.

Arizona's overall safety ranking was 44th in the country.

  • Road safety rank: 50
  • Workplace Safety rank: 14
  • Natural Disasters: 26
  • Home & Community Safety rank: 45
