PEORIA, AZ (3TV/CBS 5) -

What do you get when you combine soccer and golf? You get a new sport called “FootGolf.”

About 36 kids from Kellis High School golf and soccer teams tested their athletic skills out on FootGolf on Monday morning.

The Peoria Pines Golf Course has become the first spot in the Valley to open a certified FootGolf course, launching its new program just a few weeks ago.

FootGolf is fun for all ages, and requires no equipment other than a soccer ball. And with a low cost to play, it makes for a great family activity. FootGolf is played with a regulation #5 soccer ball at a golf course facility on shortened holes with 21-inch diameter cups. The rules largely correspond to the rules of golf.

Peoria Pines Golf & Restaurant is a Certified FootGolf Course of the American FootGolf League (AFGL) and will promote the sport of FootGolf under the rules & guidelines of the Federation of International FootGolf (FIFG).
