Valley schools say thank you to teachers

Posted: Updated:
CHANDLER, AZ (3TV/CBS 5) - This is Teacher Appreciation week, and students and staffers across the Valley are taking the opportunity to thank their teachers for all their hard work, all year long.

On Tuesday's Good Morning Arizona, 3TV's Tess Rafols visited Haley Elementary School in Chandler, where the kids went all out to spoil their teachers.

Students brought gifts, made signs and brought in treats for their teachers. And the school organizes special treats and meals for the teachers every day of the week! For example, Tuesday they'll be treated to Chipotle for lunch.

“They do so much for our kids and so much for our school that we want them to know that's how we feel,” says Megan Bell, co-president of the school's PTO.

It's not just the students showing teachers some love this week. Many businesses around town are offering specials for teachers.

“So many businesses in the community have been so generous and want to help us spoil the teachers,” says Bell.
