Thanks to major renovations at ASU's Sun Devil Stadium, the Cactus Bowl is moving to a (temporary) new home at Chase Field in Phoenix.
For the next three seasons, the Cactus Bowl, run by the Fiesta Bowl, will be played at the home of the Arizona Diamondbacks.
The Cactus Bowl is no stranger to Chase Field. The bowl game was played there from 2000 to 2005, when it was called the Insight Bowl, before it moved to Sun Devil Stadium.
Cactus Bowl officials also reportedly considered the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale and Arizona Stadium in Tucson, but both those sites are hosting or are in line to host other bowl games.
The Cactus Bowl is in the second year of a six-year deal that pairs teams from the Pac-12 and Big 12 conferences.
In the January 2015 game, Oklahoma State won 30-22 over Washington.
The 2016 Cactus Bowl date is not final, but it could be played on Jan. 2. The Fiesta Bowl will be played Jan. 1 and the College Football Playoff Championship on Jan. 11, both at University of Phoenix Stadium.
