Fake or fabulous: Spot treasures and phonies at auction contest
SCOTTSDALE, AZ (3TV/CBS 5) -
Do you have an eye for authenticity? Experts at J. Levine Auction and Appraisal want to see who has what it take to spot a real celebrity signature or sniff out a phony Picasso this Wednesday, April 29.
The Valley forgeries experts are inviting residents to take a chance at examining items that could be fake or real in their “Fake or fabulous Find? Tips for Purchasing Antiques, Fine Art and More,” presentation from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m.
The presentation is free and open to the public. Treasure Detectives stars Curtis Dowling and Andy Smith have flown in from London to make an appearance at the lecture.
Guests will have the chance to view nearly 300 items that will be auctioned at the J. Levine Spring Catalog Auction this Thursday, April 30. Cocktails and snacks will be provided at the event, and guests who can correctly identify the items will win a prize.
