SOB Formula

According to the U.S. Bureau of labor Statistics, people change jobs about every 5 years and researchers find that unemployed workers in their 50s increasingly find themselves stuck in limbo.

Walmart Jobs

Day two of Walmart job fair. Walmart is looking to hire 600 people for their more than 30 locations.

Walmart representatives will be at the Maricopa county Career Center in Gilbert, AZ from 9AM to 3PM.

The last day of job fair is tomorrow, Friday, April 24th.

Pay starts at nine dollars an hour.

Food For Fines

There is just a few days left to take advantage of the Phoenix Public Libraries offer to help get you get out of debt - at least when it comes to overdue books.

It's that time of year! Come into any of 13 Phoenix Public Library locations now through April 25th with canned or non-perishable food items for St. Mary's Food Bank Alliance and the library will wipe out any outstanding fines.

During "Food for Fines," you receive a 50-cent credit per canned or non-perishable food toward your library fines. For the third straight year, Phoenix Public Libraries have decided to raise the maximum total of fines that can be paid with donated food from $50 to as much as $75! And also this year, "Food for Fines" will also apply not only to outstanding fines but to lost items or collections as well!

The program collected a record 50,873 pounds of food for Arizona's hungry last year.

MIM Anniversary

The Musical Instrument Museum is celebrating its 5th anniversary, opening its doors as the first and largest global musical instrument museum on April 24th, 2010. There are events taking place all week and through the weekend for kids to take part in, including crafts, face painting and more. They are also offering a new family-friendly membership program that just launched this week, along with fun upcoming events such as Drum Break and their inaugural summer camp which launches in June.

World Book Night

Junior High School Class at Foothills Academy is giving books away in downtown phoenix in front of the Central Superior Courthouse today from 9:30 AM to 12:15 PM for World Book Night.

The students raised $1000 and bought the books to give away to promote reading and literacy.
